PreVeterinary Undergraduate at Missouri University of Science and Technology

Missouri S&T students have been very successful in gaining admission to medical, veterinary and dental schools. A pre-health professions program does not require a specific major. It does require considerable coursework in chemistry, biology, anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and one year of physics is highly recommended.

Missouri S&T pre-med students have the option of participating in the Bryant Scholars Program, a guaranteed admission program at the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Medicine. Bryant Scholars is designed to encourage young people from rural areas to pursue a medical education and return to practice in rural Missouri.

Veterinary Medicine Admission Requirements at University Of Iowa

Most first-year students enroll in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences or the College of Engineering.

The Tippie College of Business admits highly qualified first-year students through its Direct Admission Program. The college admits all other students upon satisfactory completion of one to four semesters of pre-business study in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. If you are interested in this major but don’t qualify for Direct Admission, apply to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

The College of Nursing admits highly qualified first-year students through its Early Admission Program. Most first-year students interested in nursing enroll in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, then apply to the College of Nursing at the beginning of their sophomore or junior year.

The colleges of Education and Pharmacy admit qualified applicants at the beginning of their sophomore or junior years. First-year students interested in pharmacy or education apply to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

The College of Medicine has undergraduate programs in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Radiation Sciences, or Nuclear Medicine Technology. Students interested in these majors should apply to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Veterinary Technology AS Degree at Valencia Community College

The Veterinary Technology A.S. Degree program is a selective admission
program at St. Petersburg College. Through a cooperative agreement
with St. Petersburg College, Valencia offers the general education core
and support courses required in the program. Students meeting the
admission requirements of this program at St. Petersburg College can
access all of the remaining specialized courses through online distance
learning. Required clinical and work experiences can be obtained
within the Central Florida area. The degree is awarded by St. Petersburg
College.
The A.S. Degree in Veterinary Technology program prepares students to
be veterinary technicians and once students complete the program, they
may take the FVMA and FVTA Certification examinations.

PreVeterinary Undergraduate at Xavier University Of Cincinnati

A new admissions pathway into medical school is the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine’s R.O.S.E. (Research, Observation, Service, Education) Program. ROSE is an “admission pathway” program for Ohio residents in which students apply to UCCOM after the fall of their sophomore year of college. High academic standards, both in GPA and MCAT expectations, plus the extensive summer research and physician mentoring that will be a part of ROSE, make this a very desirable program. Another special admissions pathway into medical school is the Medical University of Ohio’s MEDStart Program. It is an early admission program designed to accept college students during the JUNIOR year of their undergraduate education. This program allows students to enroll into the Medical College of Ohio’s School of Medicine program for the next academic year following completion of the four-year baccalaureate education. The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) is not required for acceptance into the MEDStart Program, but certain rigorous undergraduate and high school academic critera are required to qualify for application. Professional health is a challenging and demanding career path, yet it can be an extremely rewarding one. Admission into these professional health programs is competitive. You must be well-informed, well-prepared, and very personally motivated to work very hard to gain admission.
