Bachelor of Veterinary at Universidad de León

It is the faculty dean of the University of León. It was the first university and the first University Center in the city of León. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has modern facilities for teaching and research. It was the first of the Spanish to be evaluated on the quality of education imparted by experts of the Advisory Committee on Veterinary Training (CCFV) of the European Union (EU), stressing in his report, inter alia, quality faculty, the pilot installation of food technology, management of the farm and the research. At present the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has more than 6,000 square feet of area devoted exclusively to clinical care, teaching and research, including hospitals for different animal species, diagnostic laboratories, and an area of Reproductive Technology.

The curriculum, adapted to the requirements of the 1027 directive of the EU is divided into three branches in the second cycle of different orientation: Medicine and Animal Health, Animal Production and Economics Bromatology, Health and Food Technology.

Objectives

78/1027/UE the directive of December 18, 1978, incorporated by Royal Decree 1384/1991 on the establishment of the Degree in Veterinary Science and the General Guidelines own curricula make these points, which could be noted in summary:

Science is based on the activities of the veterinarian.

Healthy animals: structure and function; breeding and reproduction, hygiene and nutrition, technology of manufacture and storage of food for animals, behavior and safety.

Animal diseases (including zoonoses): causes, nature, development, effects, diagnosis and treatment, preventive medicine.

Foods of animal origin for human consumption: Hygiene and technology of production, manufacture and circulation.

Veterinary legislation.

Veterinary Administrative Assistant Degree at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Veterinary Administrative Assistant is a one-year program qualifying the student for a front-line position in animal facilities such as veterinary clinics, livestock supply centres and animal shelters.

Students will learn valuable office skills as well as customer service and client relations.

Veterinary Technology Undergraduate at Medaille College

Turn a love of animals into a lifetime career with our Veterinary Technology degree. In our associate’s and bachelor’s programs, students work hand-in-hand with doctors and veterinary technicians by performing lab tests, drawing blood, assisting in surgery, and caring for animals. With experience in working with domestic, exotic and farm animals of every shape and size, students are well-prepared for careers in veterinary hospitals and clinics.

Our associate in science degree in Veterinary Technology is one of seven programs in New York. This is a rigorous academic program with a strong emphasis on practical application. The program includes professional, liberal arts, and preceptorship (internship) requirements, as recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Classes are designed around the responsibilities of a Veterinary Technician, with core courses in Laboratory Animal Science, Small Animal Diseases and Nutrition, Farm Animal Restraint, and Veterinary Practice Management. Students also have the option to continue at Medaille for a Bachelor of Science degree in either Biology or Liberal Studies.

In 2001, Medaille College’s accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association was reconfirmed. This accreditation is recognized throughout the United States. Upon completion of the degree, students take a licensing exam to become certified as a Veterinary Technician. This exam is recognized in New York State and nationally. In the last 10 years, Medaille graduates have had a greater than 90% passing rate. Medaille graduates have experienced 100% job placement rates

Veterinary Pathology Graduate at National Chung Hsing University

The main curriculum of the Graduate Institute of Veterinary Pathology is designed with the aim to educate students to study in the field of animal diseases. Based upon the pathology and modern fields of cellular pathology, immunopathology, molecular and toxic pathology, as well as molecular biology, graduate students can further understand the pathogenesis of diseases and improve their diagnosis techniques for the purposes of disease control, prevention and public health. In addition, our principle is also training veterinary students to become veterinary pathologists and improving their research activities. Veterinary Microbiology Graduate at National Chung Hsing University

The main curriculum of the Graduate Institute of Veterinary Microbiology is designed to prepare the graduates for a career in research and teaching in veterinary microbiology, with special emphasis on applied microbiology, molecular biology, pathogenesis of microorganisms and biotechnology. The main goal of the Institute is to improve the quality of the diagnostic techniques and quarantine for the purposes of disease control, prevention, and public health due to emerging complexity of diseases and the importance of zoonotic as well as tropical animal diseases.

History:

Founded in 1994, this graduate institute has provided M. S. program ever since. All teaching faculty are well qualified with Ph. D. degree. A highly competitive entrance exam is held out each year for a growing number of students who take interests in the enrollment. Currently, this institute houses 24 M. S. students who came from a broad varieties of B. S. training backgrounds encompassing veterinary, agricultural, medical, and life sciences. It is the expectation of this institute that, upon graduation, each student will be strengthened in his/her ability to apply concurrent biological technology in veterinary microbiology. To cope with the trend in the field and to further help out the urgent demand from the national biotechnology industries, we have been preparing for a more intensive and advanced Ph. D. training program. The ministry of education has evaulated the graduate institute and approved for our initiation of Ph. D. training program in the year of 2001.

Course and Research:

This institute is the only institute in Taiwan that provides programs for master degree in veterinary microbiology. The courses emphasize not only on the basic and clinical application of biotechnology to veterinary services, but also on basic principle and advanced knowledge of regulation, pathogenecity and immunology of microorganisms. The future goals of this institute are: (1) Application of biotechnology in industry (2) Improvement of diagnostic techniques (3) Study on molecular pathogenecity and immunology of pathogenic organisms. Because biotechnology is the main goal for the development of this institute, other institutes and departments in National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), including those in College of Agriculture, College of Life Science, and College of Science could have collaboration with this institute. Therefore, the teaching and research in the development of biotechnology in NCHU could be integrated.
