Zoology Admission Detail at North Eastern Hill University

ADMISSION NOTICE

Applications in the prescribed form are invited for admission to the courses of study in the North Eastern Hill University for the academic session commencing from March, 2009 for M.Phil/Ph.D and MBA, B.Tech and Law from August,2009. The courses offered are as indicated below against each of the Departments/Centre.

Research courses (M.phil/ Ph.D) : Shillong Campus: : History Ph.D., Geography Ph.D., Anthropology Ph.D., Philosophy Ph.D., Education Ph.D., English M.Phil., Zoology Ph.D., Statistics M.Phil/Ph.D., Commerce Ph.D., Physics Ph.D., Linguistics Ph.D., Sociology M.Phil/Ph.D., Mathematics M.Phil/Ph.D., Political Science M.Phil/Ph.D., Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Ph.D., Biochemistry Ph.D., Economics M.Phil/Ph.D., Chemistry Ph.D., Khasi M.Phil/Ph.D., Centre for Adult & Continuing Education Certificate Course in Research Methodology/Ph.D., Centre for Cultural & Creative Studies (i) Ph.D. in Folkloristics Performing Arts and (ii) Ph.D. in Music., Centre for Environmental Studies Ph.D, Botany Ph.D.

FOR RESEARCH COURSES (M.PHIL/PH.D) : Tura Campus: Education Ph.D.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA : FOR RESEARCH COURSES

Candidates securing 55% marks in the Master Degree Examination of any recognized University are eligible to apply. Relaxation of 5% is applicable in respect of SC/ST candidates.
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. in Centre for Adult & Continuing Education

Post graduate degree in any stream.
Management: Master of Business Administration (MBA) Eligibility Criteria for M.B.A. Programme

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate (45% marks in case of ST/SC). Those appearing in the final examination and expecting their results by July 15, 2009 may also apply . ( Eligible candidates need to appear any of the MAT Tests (May,September,December,2008 and February, 2009). Candidates who are willing to take admission in the MBA Programme are required to fill up the NEHU application form enclosing their respective MAT Score.
B.TECH PROGRAMME: Information Technology (IT) and Electronic Communication Engineering (ECE) Eligibility criteria for B.Tech

(a) Candidates who has passed/appeared/appearing the higher secondary(10+2) Examination or its equivalent in Science Stream from any recognized Board having secured a minimum of 50% marks (in aggregate) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates), (b) A candidates must have valid All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) score.
Department of Law : B.A.LL.B (Hons) : Eligibility Criteria for Law

(a) A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with not less that 50% marks in aggregate in the core subject with at least 50% marks in English Language from a recognized University/Board and should not be more than 21 years, relaxable upto 2 years for SC/ST candidates (b) The candidate will have to clear the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Department.
For Certificate Course in Centre for Adult & Continuing Education : Duration :

One Semester ( 6 months) Total Course Fee : Rs.3000/- (Rupees three thousand) payable at the time of admission.
HOW TO APPLY

Prescribed application forms with prospectus can be obtained in person or by post from the Receptionist, Administrative Building, Permanent Campus, Shillong 793022 or from the office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura 794001 during office hours on payment of Rs.100/- through University Challan/Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft drawn in favour of “North Eastern Hill University”. Request for application forms and prospectus by post should be addressed to the Dean Students’ Welfare, NEHU, Permanent Campus, Shillong 793022 accompanied by a self addressed envelop of 26 x 16cm affixing Rs.25/- stamp thereon and enclosing Demand Draft for Rs.100/-. The application form/prospectus fee is not reimbursable. The admission form may also downloaded from NEHU Website www.nehu.ac.in and filled in application form alongwith the Demand Draft of the same amount can be sent to the Dean Students Welfare, NEHU, Shillong 793022.
LAST DATE FOR APPLICATION

Application forms duly filled-in are to be submitted to the Head of the respective Department/Centre on or before 25th March, 2009 for the Research courses and M.B.A. Programme. The last date for the Law and B.Tech Programme is on 15th June , 2009. Application received after the specified date will not be entertained. For other details the candidates may consult the prospectus of the University or Website.

Applied Zoolog MSc at Mangalore University

16a +8b +3c Two Years 4 semesters i) Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Applied Zoology course shall have passed the 3 years B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered equivalent thereto, with Zoology as optional/ major/ special subject at the under graduate level. They shall have obtained not less than 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in the cognate subject.

ii)Candidates who have passed the B.Sc.Ed. Degree examination (Regional college scheme) of any University are eligible for admission to the programme, provided they satisfy all other requirements mentioned in (i) above.
