Sustainable Animal Production Systems Degree at Universidad Nacional De Rosario

Expertise in Sustainable Animal Production Systems
In society’s growing concern about environmental degradation from human intervention in the natural system and in particular of our common patterns of economic development and overexploitation of natural resources that are “unsustainable” in the long term. The expansion into international markets, hierarchical maximizing yields, favors a model in which production expands the use of inputs, mainly chemical, and monoculture, excluding the process of nature.
Assuming the need for a change process in which the use of resources, the direction of investments, the orientation of technological and institutional change to reflect the present and future needs, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Sciences UNR designed for an academic option that addresses this issue.

From April 2008 will start the dictation of courses for the Postgraduate Degree of Specialization in Sustainable Animal Production Systems, aimed at deepening the study of the structure and dynamics of animal production systems for better management of the processes inherent in sustainability.

This race will be presented for accreditation CONEAU during 2008.

Graduates will acquire solid knowledge on technical, ecological and socio-economic to:
Create and develop appropriate technology to intervene in the management of animal production systems and conservation of natural and social resources.
Develop useful strategies for the study, diagnosis and planning of sustainable animal production systems.
Take a critical and reflective in the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge.
Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams from a flexible attitude to address the plurality and diversity of ideas.

The Race is for agronomists, Veterinary Medical, Agricultural Engineers, Engineers zootechnicians or other college graduates who demonstrate an appropriate academic or professional to put in evidence his strong background in the area of animal production.
