The Zootecnista is a professional prepared to work in management, research and assistance of different systems of animal production, adding value and optimizing the use of environmental resources and technology available.

Main Activities
Are skills and abilities of Zootecnista:

-Encourage, plan, coordinate and administer programs for genetic improvement of different animal species of economic interest and preservation;
-Work in the area of nutrition and feeding, and respond by formulating, manufacturing and quality control of diet and animal feed;
-Plan and execute construction projects in rural areas, training and / or production of pasture and fodder, and make the control environment;
Search-and propose better ways of using wild and exotic animals;
Manage-farms, industrial establishments and trade related to production, livestock breeding and technology;
-Evaluate, classify and represent products and animal by-products at all stages of production;
-Run the trial, monitor and advise companies on entry of animals from pedigree records, statements, evidence and functional assessments and animal husbandry;
-Develop research to improve the techniques of farming, transport, handling and slaughter, to animal welfare;
Officer programs to control health, hygiene, prophylaxis and animal traceability, public and private, aimed at food security;
-Develop, administer and coordinate programs, projects and activities in teaching, research and extension, as well as being able to work in scientific fields that allow the formation of academic zootechnics.

Salary Range

The degree is offered in Animal Production in the school system, through theoretical and practical courses of agricultural areas and other support activities (laboratories, computer activities, bibliographic research, seminars, conferences, etc.)..
To provide sound knowledge, the plant is composed of academic teachers and researchers of high academic standards, most with postgraduate studies full time and dedication, who conducted research for the performance and development of research, extension and outreach the field of agricultural sciences, where you can get involved.
The curriculum is divided into two blocks:

Trunk General Teaching-Learning Unit, whose purpose is to initiate students in interdisciplinary activities, by providing skills fundamentals of physical, chemical and biological sciences and health. The trunk develops during the first three quarters of the course.
Career trunk, which starts from the fourth quarter and how the student in the disciplines inherent in the physiological processes of animals, the environment and agricultural technology which allows you to integrate the knowledge necessary to develop the rational production of the domestic species of economic interest.

This degree has infrastructure for the development of theoretical and practical activities of the different subjects taught at the University.
