The course provides students with an understanding of physiology, pathology, surgery, biotechnology and diseases in animal reproduction that can be applied effectively in animal research, management, care and production. The program is the first in the Faculty of Veterinary Science, which provides great breadth of specialist expertise, coursework and facilities including laboratories, farms contact and animal teaching hospital accessible to all students. It also has been strengthened by international collaborations from veterinary colleges worldwide. Graduates from this research-rich taught Ph.D. will be prepared for employment in research establishments, education as well as non-governmental organisations.”

Master of science Program in Animal Breeding is working in collaboration with other degree programs in Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. Students can choose the courses offered within the department of animal husbandry, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. They can also register for courses offered by other faculty in Chulalongkorn University which cover areas from health sciences, social sciences and economics, engineering and management and other related fields. The department collaborates with government and private organization in conducting and supervising researcher. All graduate students recruit certain form of research and CU Graduate School. The students are encouraged to present the thesis result in national conferences as well as submentary paper to publish their work in a peer review journals. Most of graduates (70%) work in animal breeding for both public and private organization. Around 25 percent of graduates pursue academic career.

The Veterinary Science program is a 4-yr option in Agricultural Science that fulfills the requirements for admission to a College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
Students interested in becoming veterinarians may enroll in this program under the guidance of our Veterinary Science advisors.
Once the CVM admission requirements are completed, the student will apply to one or more CVM’s for admission.
If admitted, they will spend another 4 years completing the DVM professional curriculum.
Graduates of a CVM earn the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and are eligible to become licensed veterinary practitioners.
Post-doctoral studies leading to advanced degrees (MS, PhD) and /or specialty certification (surgery, ophthalmology, etc.) may be pursued following completion of the DVM degree, or in some cases in conjunction with the DVM degree.
