Zootecnia Degree at Universidade Paulista

The course of Zootecnia aims to train top-level professional, with solid theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of creation, management, nutrition, feeding, reproduction and breeding of domestic animals and wildlife as well as in economics and management and rural agribusiness.
Main Activities

The Zootecnista to be a professional with solid technical and scientific training, ready to manage different systems of animal production, with skill and competence to:
know and understand the factors of production and combine them with technical and economic efficiency;
conceive, design and analysis systems, products and processes;
know and act in markets agroindustrial complex;
understand and act in the organization and management and business community;
meet, interact and influence in decision making processes of actors and institutions, management of sectoral policies of its field of action;
develop and use new technologies;
assess the impact of professional activities in the social, environmental and economic;
work in teaching in higher education, design and conduct research, interpret and disseminate results;
act ethically, participating in multidisciplinary teams.

Pre Veterinary Requirements at Whitworth College

Students interested in attending veterinary school should check with their prospective institutions for test requirements. Some schools require the Veterinary College Admission Test (VCAT), while others prefer the Graduate Record Examiniation (GRE) or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).

The VCAT is designed to measure achievement in areas critical for success in veterinary medical school. It consists of approximately 230 multiple choice questions, and measures five content areas: verbal ability, biology, chemistry, quantitative ability and reading comprehension

Post Graduation in Animal Science at Universidade Estadual Paulista

The post-graduate in Animal Science, Faculty of Dentistry, Course of Veterinary Medicine of UNESP – Campus de Araçatuba is to graduate professionals in higher education, graduates of institutions recognized national or foreign institutions as equivalent, with a profile consistent with the areas covered by the program. Aims at the training of teachers, researchers and practitioners, to meet the demands of public and private sectors. Their deployment in the Master’s level, occurred in March 2004. The act that authorized the operation of the course was the resolution UNESP-18, 18/03/2004. Also had their recognition by the Ministry of Education through the Ministerial Decree number 2878 of 24 August 2005.
