Veterinary Science Major at Hungarian University of Physical Education
As an independent institution the school earned an international reputation in the first half of the 20th century. In the 1990′s a Field Station and a Large Animal’s Clinic was built in Üllõ, outside Budapest providing a bigger supply of horses and cattle for the students in the clinical years. The university arranges a shuttle service to this location situated 25 km-s North of the main campus. In 2000 the veterinary school became an integrated part of the Szt. István University. Since the foundation of the international programs in 1989 around 2000 international students were enrolled, mostly from Germany, Norway, Israel, Greece and Sweden.
The degree granted by the university is recognized without any licensing examinations in all European Union countries (- applies to the nationals of the member states). As a veterinarian you are going to have a wide range of job opportunities in Europe. You can find a lucrative job in a private clinic for pets or in a state office for veterinary hygiene.
