Veterinary Technology Scholarship at Medaille College

A large number of merit scholarships are awarded by the Admissions Office each year.

Undergraduate students will be considered for these scholarship funds by completing their Medaille Application for Admission.
Alumni Referral Scholarship

The Alumni Referral Scholarship was established to offer Alumni the opportunity to do two good deeds at once, help a deserving student and help the Admissions Office recruit an exciting class. The Alumni Referral Scholarship is a grant of $1,000 renewable for four years as long as the full-time student maintains academic progress. More »
Anna Illuzzi Palano Memorial

The Anna Illuzzi Palano Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually by the Medaille College Alumni Association. Factors considered in judging applicants include financial need, scholastic ability, participation in activities, personal initiatives, and community involvement. More »
Allen Lee Downing Memorial

Students aspiring to become leaders in the business world, with a strong passion for and commitment to the service of others, will have an opportunity to receive the tools to achieve those lofty goals through the generous support provided by all of the many people whose lives Allen Lee Downing touched.

Scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled, full-time, as declared business, accounting, or management majors who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0 or entering freshmen with a four year, cumulative grade point average of no less than 85% or 3.0.
ALP Scholarship

Medaille College is sponsoring a $500.00 scholarship for non-traditional students enrolled in the Accelerated Learning Program.

The following are general requirements for those who wish to apply for the scholarship:
• Must be an adult student (23 years old or older)
• Must be seeking a bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Must be accepted into and registered for the Accelerated Learning Program

Students may apply for the scholarship as they begin the program; the scholarship will be awarded through their course of study.
ALP Women in Business Scholarship

The Women in Business Scholarship Program will provide three $1,500 one-year scholarships to current female students enrolled in any Medaille College ALP program. This scholarship will provide support for women who have never attended a post-secondary educational institution or those who previously attended a post-secondary educational institution, but had to interrupt their education for two or more years.
Heidi A. Raphael Communication Scholarship

The Heidi A. Raphael Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding student currently participating in the Communication Program. The applicant must have a sophomore or junior standing with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the Spring 2008 semester and be interested in pursuing a career in the radio broadcasting industry. The recipient will receive a $1000 scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year as well as have Heidi Raphael serve as a mentor throughout the school year that the scholarship is awarded. Complete the scholarship application and return to Keith Koch by May 1, 2008.

Veterinary Technology Undergraduate at Medaille College

Turn a love of animals into a lifetime career with our Veterinary Technology degree. In our associate’s and bachelor’s programs, students work hand-in-hand with doctors and veterinary technicians by performing lab tests, drawing blood, assisting in surgery, and caring for animals. With experience in working with domestic, exotic and farm animals of every shape and size, students are well-prepared for careers in veterinary hospitals and clinics.

Our associate in science degree in Veterinary Technology is one of seven programs in New York. This is a rigorous academic program with a strong emphasis on practical application. The program includes professional, liberal arts, and preceptorship (internship) requirements, as recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Classes are designed around the responsibilities of a Veterinary Technician, with core courses in Laboratory Animal Science, Small Animal Diseases and Nutrition, Farm Animal Restraint, and Veterinary Practice Management. Students also have the option to continue at Medaille for a Bachelor of Science degree in either Biology or Liberal Studies.

In 2001, Medaille College’s accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association was reconfirmed. This accreditation is recognized throughout the United States. Upon completion of the degree, students take a licensing exam to become certified as a Veterinary Technician. This exam is recognized in New York State and nationally. In the last 10 years, Medaille graduates have had a greater than 90% passing rate. Medaille graduates have experienced 100% job placement rates
