English language:

For PhD applicants whose first language is not English an IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL 577 (paper based), TOEFL 233 (computer based) or TOEFL 90 (internet based) is required as a minimum.

Animal Science Health Science entry requirements at Murdoch University

The standard requirements for admission to Murdoch for school leavers are through their high school TEE or Course subjects.

School leavers need to meet the following:
Secondary School Graduation
A competitive Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) which is calculated from your school results and exam results.
English competency – You will need a scaled mark of at least 50 in English or Literature to be eligible

Non-School Leavers

There are a range of admission pathways for non-school leavers, however most applicants will use one of the following as their basis for admission:
Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) – Applicants need a minimum score from within the last 10 years of 145 or more in both sections of this test to be eligible for admission;
TAFE – Applicants are eligible to apply for admission with a Certificate IV or higher, completed within the last 10 years.
Prior University study – Applicants who have partially or fully completed prior university study are eligible to apply for admission based on these results.
Advanced Standing

Some students may have prior study that makes them eligible for Advanced Standing. This is also known as Credit and/or Exemption.
Students may be eligible for Advanced Standing if they have:
Completed any other university study within the last ten years; or
Have completed a Diploma or higher.

In some cases recognition of prior learning, such as relevant work experience, may also make a student eligible for Advanced Standing.
