Management: Master of Business Administration (MBA) Eligibility Criteria for M.B.A. Programme

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate (45% marks in case of ST/SC). Those appearing in the final examination and expecting their results by July 15, 2009 may also apply . ( Eligible candidates need to appear any of the MAT Tests (May,September,December,2008 and February, 2009). Candidates who are willing to take admission in the MBA Programme are required to fill up the NEHU application form enclosing their respective MAT Score.
B.TECH PROGRAMME: Information Technology (IT) and Electronic Communication Engineering (ECE) Eligibility criteria for B.Tech

(a) Candidates who has passed/appeared/appearing the higher secondary(10+2) Examination or its equivalent in Science Stream from any recognized Board having secured a minimum of 50% marks (in aggregate) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates), (b) A candidates must have valid All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) score.
Department of Law : B.A.LL.B (Hons) : Eligibility Criteria for Law

(a) A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with not less that 50% marks in aggregate in the core subject with at least 50% marks in English Language from a recognized University/Board and should not be more than 21 years, relaxable upto 2 years for SC/ST candidates (b) The candidate will have to clear the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Department.

One Semester ( 6 months) Total Course Fee : Rs.3000/- (Rupees three thousand) payable at the time of admission.

Request for application forms and prospectus by post should be addressed to the Dean Students’ Welfare, NEHU, Permanent Campus, Shillong 793022 accompanied by a self addressed envelop of 26 x 16cm affixing Rs.25/- stamp thereon and enclosing Demand Draft for Rs.100/-. The application form/prospectus fee is not reimbursable. Introduction and Objectives

The objective of the programme is to provide enhanced training in research and application of the life sciences with emphasis on molecular biology and biotechnology, and produce graduates who will contribute on economic growth and welfare development through research, teaching and production of ruminant and non ruminant animals in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

The graduate study in Pathobiology is a multidisciplinary program providing a common back ground for clinical practices and the basic research. To render a guideline for the veterinary diagnosis and thera- peutic areas of interest, our programs are recommended for veterinary pathologist, parasitologist, microbiologist, virologist and the immunologist. Chulalongkorn University, the first institution of the high learning was established in 1917. As well as the Faculty of Veterinary Science, we are the most experienced school of veterinary science of the country. Almost 70 years of experience in veterinary medical teaching we have produced most than 3600 veterinary undergraduates to date. For that reason, we are able to provide the first-class veteri- nary facilities and staffs who will be giving an excellent lecture series and hands-on research throughout the graduate program. A series of course works are delivered by seminars, practice works and clinical adjoined field research. Course Outline : Our course offer an exclusive study program in order to furnish you with scientific research, clinical research and pathological critical skills, with are our uniqueness. The overall aim of these programs are to produce the veterinary masters and doctorates in animal diseases, diagnostic techniques and animal immunology in order to connect you to the world of veterinary science. Course content : year 1 is the groundbreaking course work. Students will be involves in an introduction to cell and molecular biology, excellent series of seminar in pathobiology and research methodology. yesr 2 is the decisive course work. Students will be advised to one of the specialities in pathobiology. For example, students will be have to take one of these pathobiology sub-programs, pathology, para- sitology, microbiology, virology and immunology as their desire. year 3 until completion is for thesis or dissertation. The undertaken experimental works are under supervision of the research committee. In addition, for each individual, his/her thesis or dissertation will be necessary for the program completion. We encourage students to write a publication at the end of the program.

The objective of this Master of Science (MSc) programme is to produce skilled nutritionists who can efficiently apply their knowledge into practice. The programme of studies aims to equip students with a skill in feed formulation, to generate familiarity with apparatus for feed evaluation and feed production as well as to build up a capability to elucidate utilisation of nutrition and disorders caused by nutritional imbalance in animals. Furthermore, the programme also provides knowledge on research methodology including experimental design, parameters selection and result analysis. (NB.: The applicants to the programme are required to be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Animal science, Food Science, Food Technology or related field.)

Develop the advanced research skills and knowledge to collect and analyze data that contributes to innovations in veterinary science. Specialize in animal nutrition, reproductive physiology, meats, animal breeding, or muscle biology and growth.

Learn research protocols, conduct literature reviews, design and carry out scientific experiments, and interpret and validate data.

Before entering the two-year program, you’ll select a professor whose research interests match your own. Secure a position as an assistant in his or her lab. This professor will serve on your graduate committee and guide your independent research.

For your thesis, you’ll develop a research methodology, carry out scientific data collection, analyze your results and present your findings to your peers and professors. You’ll also publish your findings in an academic periodical.

You’ll work alongside professors who conduct research that is nationally and internationally significant. Explore topics such as reproduction, growth, and lactation physiology; meat and dairy science and nutrition; and aquaculture. Our professors contribute to innovations in cloning and production processes that are less harmful to the environment.
