Veterinary Program A at University of Health Sciences Antigua

The Veterinary School curriculum is a four year program consisting of two years of basic science studies, and two years of clinical work leading to the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). The University uses a combination of formal classes in Antigua and advanced communication information and technology to execute the curriculum.

The pre-clinical phase of the curriculum spans two years and students are required to take courses in Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Neuroanatomy, Physiology, Animal Nutrition and Biochemistry.

The para-clinical phase consists of courses in Pathology, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Microbiology, Virology, Immunology, Parasitology & Entomology, Ethics & Jurisprudence, Public Health, Preventive & Hygiene and Physical Diagnosis.

In addition, during the clinical phase, students undertake clinical rotations at the Veterinary Hospitals affiliated to the School of Veterinary Medicine. These clinical rotations include Large & Small Animal Medicine, Large & Small Animal Surgery, and Large & Small Animal Theriogenology.

Dairy Science & industry Undergraduate at Chungbuk National University

The purpose of dairy science studies are to produce specialists who play an important role in engaging the field of animal industry resources with the scientific technology. In order to keep up with development trends in this area of studies and with the modernization of technology, this program includes the basic education for animal breeding, animal production, animal nutrition and pastureland for the production of dairy farming, as well as the factors of agriculture industry and commerce such as consuming and processing of dairy products, and dairy business including marketability. This field consists of the specialized and various courses that teach the high-tech knowledge that is needed to produce milk and to manufacture dairy products. It possesses a research center called the Korean Biotechnology Research Center and graduate courses run by partnership of both academic and research center to activate animal biotechnology. Each major has an experimental center and animal farms equipped by the modernized research facilities

Animal Science & Biotechnology Undergraduate at Chungbuk National University

Recently, animal science has been extended from traditional farm animal like cattle, pigs, chickens, etc. to wild birds, fish, experimental animals and pets so that animal science now takes in every animal that humans use as objects of resource. Overcoming the limitation of the early industry, animal science has changed as a comprehensive industry that now embraces the industry of processing and distribution. The area of animal science studies has been enlarged and specialized through improving production and inventing new functional materials by the automation of equipment, and bioengineering technique. The purpose of these studies is to accept the change of the new era, to develop studies of animal science and its industry, and to encourage excellent individuals to work in the practical industrial sites.
