Veterinary Program A Admission Requirements at University of Health Sciences Antigua

The minimum requirement to participate in the traditional program leading to the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) is the successful completion of pre-veterinary program in Universities or colleges.

The required pre-professional and science courses which should be taken and passed during the pre-veterinary program are:

General Chemistry with Laboratory
6 semester credits,

or 8 quarter credits.

Organic Chemistry with Laboratory
6 semester credits

or 8 quarter credits.

Biochemistry

(Emphasis on Animal Biochemistry and Metabolism)
3 semester credits

or 4 quarter credits.

Genetics
3 semester credits

or 4 quarter credits.

Applied Veterinary Entry Requirements at University of Nairobi

2.1 The Common Regulations for the Masters degree in all faculties of the University of Nairobi shall apply.

2.2 Those eligible for admission into the course shall be holders of the following degree awards of the University of Nairobi :

(a) Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with at least a credit in Veterinary Parasitology for B.V.M. candidates or equivalent for candidates from MBChB holders.

(b) Bachelor of Science with a minimum of an Upper-Second Class Honours and where Zoology as a major was offered as a course in the years of undergraduate programme.

2.3. Other candidates who have obtained degrees from other Universities approved by Senate as being equivalent to one of the degrees stated above.

Animal Science Graduate at Universidade Federal De Vicosa

The Graduate Program in Animal Science prepares human resources for teaching activities in universities, research and technical support, deepening knowledge in specialized areas of Animal Science at Master’s (MS) and Doctorate (DS) levels. Both programs offer training in Bioclimatology and Animal Reproduction, Fodder Cropping and Pasture, Genetics and Animal Breeding, Monogastric Nutrition and Production, Ruminant Nutrition and Production. The Graduate Program in Animal Science also offers the Master’s program in Monogastric and Ruminant Nutrition and Production.
